COVID-19 Announcement

 

 

As of March 13th, 2020 (updated 3/30/20)

All events at the Stockbridge Theatre have currently been suspended. 

 

Governor Chris Sununu issued a stay at home order on Thursday, March 26, for New Hampshire residents, in effect until May 4th. This is part of the state’s broader efforts to slow the spread of the coronavirus in New Hampshire. 

 

Pinkerton Academy made the move to remote learning on March 13, 2020, and the Stockbridge Theatre suspended all events. This was done to support community efforts to flatten the curve and slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. It has become increasingly obvious that these efforts need to be more long-term to make a meaningful impact.

 

The Pinkerton Players’ Spring Musical, Children of Eden, will be rescheduled once it is safe to reopen. We will also be rescheduling other on-campus events and rentals as soon as we are able. All performances in our Presenting Season will be rescheduled for next year. We will announce all changes once they have been made and ask that all refunds and exchanges be processed once new dates have been determined, as we hope you will still be able to join us for these rescheduled performances.

 

We understand the disappointment and inconvenience this causes many people, but we have decided to take these measures to keep our community safe in an effort to do our part in minimizing exposure, and we hope shared community efforts will help to quell the spread of the virus. Once again we remind all members of our community to follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

 

We will continue to update our patrons throughout the duration of the pandemic. We cannot overstate how grateful we are for the support of our entire community. This is a situation that none of us have faced before, and it is the cooperation of everyone that will help us navigate it. We look forward to returning to regular operations as soon as we are able to do so safely.

“As the Chair Turns” BOOK LAUNCH

Saturday, July 18th, 2020 7pm

Shelly Devlin is a Native of Windham NH and an Alumni of Pinkerton Academy. She is a Hairdresser, an Artist  and now an author. Her memoir “As the Chair Turns…Untangling the Meaning of Life” is launching in July. The first book in a series explores the therapeutic world of being a hairdresser. The book launch will be executed in a skit-like performance unlike any book signing you have ever experienced. She brings her stories to life in a way that grabs you and pulls you into her world. Her own life experience and listening to her clients as they sat in her chair has sparked this series to life, in what Shelly calls #AstheChairTurns #untanglingthemeaningoflife #theothersideof50 #lifeafter50
Shelly Devlin is an artist at heart.Her business card boasts “Inspyr-a-tional Coach” and she is a hairdresser extraordinaire for longer than some of you have been alive.A Salon owner of The Water’s Edge Salon and Spa for over a quarter of a century and her hair art has been published numerous times in Modern Salon, Hot and Canadian Hairdresser magazine to name a few. She has held the Mrs. NH 1999 title and competed for the Mrs. America title when she fit into a size six dress. She is a grateful Daughter to her biggest fans, her mom and dad. She is a Mother of an extremely talented son and a Wife to an amazing husband she swears is from another planet. Shelly and her husband Josh live on a quiet lake with their two dogs .If she is not writing or making people beautiful…She enjoys slowing down as the wind blows through her hair while riding her Harley with a license plate AAHHH!
