COVID-19 Announcement

 

 

As of March 13th, 2020 (updated 6/18/20)

All events at the Stockbridge Theatre have currently been suspended. 

Pinkerton Academy made the move to remote learning on March 13, 2020, and the Stockbridge Theatre suspended all events. This was done to support community efforts to flatten the curve and slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. It has become increasingly obvious that these efforts need to be more long-term to make a meaningful impact.

 

The Pinkerton Players’ Spring Musical, Children of Eden, has been rescheduled to a concert version of the show to take place Drive-In style on Wednesday, July 22nd at 12pm & 6pm at Tupelo Music Hall. 

 

We will be rescheduling other on-campus events and rentals at the Stockbridge Theatre as soon as we are able. All performances in our Presenting Season will be rescheduled for next year We will announce all changes once they have been made and ask that all refunds and exchanges be processed once new dates have been determined, as we hope you will still be able to join us for these rescheduled performances.

 

We understand the disappointment and inconvenience this causes many people, but we have decided to take these measures to keep our community safe in an effort to do our part in minimizing exposure, and we hope shared community efforts will help to quell the spread of the virus. Once again we remind all members of our community to follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

 

We will continue to update our patrons throughout the duration of the pandemic. We cannot overstate how grateful we are for the support of our entire community. This is a situation that none of us have faced before, and it is the cooperation of everyone that will help us navigate it. We look forward to returning to regular operations as soon as we are able to do so safely.

Howard Gospel Choir

Last season, the joyful noise produced by the world renown Howard Gospel Choir nearly lifted the roof right off the Stockbridge.  This season they return for an encore concert you will not want to miss.

Formed on the campus of Howard University in 1968, the Howard Gospel Choir (HGC) is a body of students, alumni and community members dedicated to using the gift of music to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. As the first college choir of its kind in the world, HGC is a trailblazer for all gospel music ministries on collegiate campuses across the globe.
