COVID-19 Announcement

As of March 13th, 2020 (updated 6/18/20)

All events at the Stockbridge Theatre have currently been suspended.

Pinkerton Academy made the move to remote learning on March 13, 2020, and the Stockbridge Theatre suspended all events. This was done to support community efforts to flatten the curve and slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. It has become increasingly obvious that these efforts need to be more long-term to make a meaningful impact.

The Pinkerton Players’ Spring Musical, Children of Eden, has been rescheduled to a concert version of the show to take place Drive-In style on Wednesday, July 22nd at 12pm & 6pm at Tupelo Music Hall.

We will be rescheduling other on-campus events and rentals at the Stockbridge Theatre as soon as we are able. All performances in our Presenting Season will be rescheduled for next year We will announce all changes once they have been made and ask that all refunds and exchanges be processed once new dates have been determined, as we hope you will still be able to join us for these rescheduled performances.

We understand the disappointment and inconvenience this causes many people, but we have decided to take these measures to keep our community safe in an effort to do our part in minimizing exposure, and we hope shared community efforts will help to quell the spread of the virus. Once again we remind all members of our community to follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

We will continue to update our patrons throughout the duration of the pandemic. We cannot overstate how grateful we are for the support of our entire community. This is a situation that none of us have faced before, and it is the cooperation of everyone that will help us navigate it. We look forward to returning to regular operations as soon as we are able to do so safely.

Thank you.

How Can I Get Involved?

There are many opportunities for student involvement at the Stockbridge.

If you are interested in working backstage, ushering, or selling tickets please stop by Mr. Cahoon’s office located across from the Black Box in the Spaulding Arts Building. Student help is needed for both school-related and outside events.

Students interested in learning more about performing opportunities should contact Mr. Cahoon or Mrs. Tartarilla, faculty advisors for the Pinkerton Players. Students interested in joining the Stage Crew should contact Mr. Lemire.

The Stockbridge often offers workshops and masterclasses with the touring artists who come to perform. Check back often for dates and registration information.

This year the Stockbridge Theatre has scholarship funding available to send two current Pinkerton Academy students to the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) conference in New York on January 10-12, 2020. These students will be accompanied by three members of the Pinkerton faculty. This delegation’s goal will be to meet with agents and scout artists for inclusion in future seasons at the Stockbridge. This scholarship funding includes conference registration fees, travel, lodging, meals, and tickets to multiple performances. Eligible candidates must be current members of the Sophomore, Junior, or Senior class at Pinkerton and must, at a minimum, be passing all of their current courses at the time of application submission. Prior to awarding the scholarships, parents/guardians will be contacted to confirm consent. Applications are due by November 22, 2019 and any applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

**What if I don’t get one of the scholarships?**
We understand that the more students who can attend this conference, the better. So, students not selected for the scholarship will have the option of paying to attend the conference. The cost of conference attendance including travel, conference registration, lodging, and theatre tickets is $650/student (payable in two $325 installments). Please note that spots are limited and that they will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Please indicate in your application if you are interested in learning more about paying for the trip and Mr. Cahoon will contact you with more details.
